Sage, Garden ‘Salvia officinalis'

The most common culinary sage, this herb is best known as the “turkey sage” used in stuffings. Leaves are silvery green and pebbly. A leaf rubbed over the teeth will kill germs in the mouth and freshens the breath.

Height to 6’. The pineapple flavor of this herb is just part of its charm. The red trumpet shaped blooms that appear in late summer draw hummingbirds by the dozens. Plant more than one and watch the show. We utilize the leaves and blooms in tea, fruit salads and mixed in cream cheese.

Sage, Russian ‘Perovskia atriplicifolia’

 Fine plant for landscaping. Fuzzy lavender colored blooms in late summer on dusky silver foliage. Not a true sage in the culinary sense. Likes a haircut in early spring on old wood.

Scented Geraniums ‘Pelargoniums’

Since Victorian times to present, scented geraniums have been one of the most coveted species of plants. A multitude of scents awaits the collector with new fragrances coming out almost yearly. We grow them in the garden but bring them in when frost threatens. They enjoy a warm environment with moderate moisture. They grow quite large with small blossoms. We wish we had more space to give to the many varieties.

Used in the production of perfume, this Attar is the truest rose. Fuzzy elongated leaves with a small pink blossom.

This is one plant that every gardener should grow. Stevia is hundreds of times sweeter than sugar without the sugar side effects that bother diabetics. Leaves can be infused in hot drinks such as teas.
